Principles and Policy Objectives

Partnership

Joining forces for the betterment of all

As a holistic society, it’s imperative that we master the art of unity, as we are all part of an ecosystem dependent on each other in numerous ways. GISED is always keen to join forces and create strategic alliances with governments, multi and bilateral agencies, corporations in the private sectors, in addition to non-governmental bodies. Globally, we are dealing with major challenges such as climate change, unequal distribution as well as access to resources. These issues can’t all be solved by one party, therefore we believe partnership and collaboration is key. Through composite efforts across all sectors, the potential to rectify these troubles is highly maximised.

Ownership & Participation

Proudly Owning What We Do

Local ownership, participation and buy-in is critical and required at all levels for projects supported by GISED.
The community ownership and partnership will ensure that the projects are developed and executed with strong community values at the centre. It is vital that programs supported by GISED are claimed and executed locally.

Capacity Development

Creating capacity for development

GISED believes that every facet of existence is interconnected, we acknowledge and endorse the strengthening of governmental, educational as well as non-governmental organisations, as they provide multiple opportunities for society to thrive. It is vital that we do our part to support and develop structures in a sustainable fashion by helping NGOs and other Not For Profit Entities acquire skills, knowledge, and other resources. We want to ensure that the capacities are up to their fullest potential. Doing so will create a more dynamic environment, pushing boundaries in strategic development and service.

Sustainability

Sustainability At The Forefront

With every project and venture that GISED carries out, we will ensure that sustainability is fundamentally at the core. The project must set forth an action plan that always results in sustainability including the plan for the project to continue to function effectively after the GISED funding. Clear indicators must be provided allowing to measure and verify the long- and short-term efficiency of the project. Further all activities need to meet environmental, social equity and economic demands, which make up the pillars of sustainability.

Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Innovation is at our core

We are here to facilitate the betterment of everyone, by constantly ensuring that every activity that we support is rooted in our ability to revolutionise how we sustain our strategic economic development programs. We aim to provide fresh new insight into how we deliver our business products, while also taking calculated, planned risks in terms of how we design and implement our programs for economic development. We welcome opportunities to make a difference, by taking ideas up a notch. GISED endorses new, innovative and unconventional approaches to tackle the worldly issues of our time. From developing eco-friendly technology and appliances to edible plastic products, we stand by any idea that achieves sustainability, no matter how unorthodox.

Education & Research

Empowering through Education & Research

GISED understands the transformative power that education holds, as it empowers society, leading to freedom of thought and opinion. No matter one’s background, everyone deserves the choice to receive quality education. In many countries, access to education depends on factors such as household income, gender, availability of schools and more. For instance, creating infrastructure in remote areas, or areas with economic or political instability is one of the many challenges that we are dealing with.
Further GISED is committed to helping researchers to achieve new breakthroughs in technology that may benefit the collective.

Fiscal Responsibility

Accountability Is Key

We are committed to the training and development of NGO's and other Not For Profit Entities, to build capacity that ensures accountability at all levels.
This accountability includes the financial aspects of a project, but reaches well further. We are conducting precise scrutiny of all partners involved in the realisation of a project. This scrutiny analysis the integrity of a partner including the over all efficiency of work processes and work ethics.

Policy Impact

Pushing For Profound Change

Our goal is to work with governments, NGOs and other stakeholders to advance changes for improved neighbourhood administration, decentralization, while cultivating an environment for sustainable development. Ultimately, we want to see goals that we set out to achieve take effect in the most visible way. Where possible we will look for opportunities to work with private companies and entities to find and develop new methods and approaches for NGOs and Service Providers.
